Successful Implementation of ISO 9001:2015 for Tammdek Tooling Ltd

Tammdek Tooling Ltd is a precision tool making and machine shop in a modern 5,000 sq ft facility based in Shannon, Clare, Ireland. Tammdek Tooling Ltd was established in 1981 and provides precision engineering service to wide variety of companies in the medical, oil and gas, specialist machine manufacturing and moulding sectors. They maintain long term relationships with customers by focusing on quality and reliability and providing innovative solutions.

Mike Deegan, the Managing Director, stated: “I had been considering implementing the ISO 9001 quality standard in Tammdek Tooling Ltd for many years. The reasons being  to help to maintain customers, to improve our chances of acquiring new customers but mainly to have proper standards and procedures within the company itself. The off putting part was the thought of the amount of work required and also the unknown.

Dick Whelan of Almir Business was recommended to me by another engineering firm as a consultant to guide me through the implementation. From the start Dick was a pleasure to work with. Ireland West Airport Knock 30 years in Business

Huge weekend in Knock Airport.

Ireland West Airport Knock 30thOn Friday night, Ireland West Airport Knock celebrated 30 years of operation and remembered Monsignor’s Horan’s determination to establish the airport. Stories were told on the night of how Monsignor Horan convinced the Irish government to build an airport in the middle of a disadvantaged, depopulated region in East Mayo, at a time when the country was in dire financial straits. Thirty years on the airport is set to have a record high of almost 750,000 passengers use the airport. And to top of the weekend, the airport welcomed back the victorious Connaught team from the Pro 12 Final early on Sunday morning. This was a fitting tribute not only to those, like Monsignor Horan, that had the vision to establish the airport but also to the winning team of management and staff that work hard to ensure the continued success of IWAK.

Almir Business are delighted to have been part of this journey with IWAK. Since 2007 we have worked with the team at Knock assisting them with their Quality and Health & Safety management systems. In this time we have seen the great strides made by the team and we know they are building on the success of the last 30 years to continue to offer a high quality, a safe, service to the public into the future.

Benefits of ISO27001:2013 Management System from the Almir Business Perspective

When people think of information security they normally think of keeping information secret or confidential.  But this is only one of the areas that an ISO27001:2013 Information Security Management system asks you to consider when reviewing your management and control of information.  The three pillars of Information Security Management are   Confidentiality,  Integrity and Availability. Considering all three, CIA, leads to a robust system for managing information.

Availability– Hosted in the cloud  it ensures that the information is available where and when you need it whether in the office or outside of normal business hours.

Because we recognise the importance of the data we hold for clients have implemented ISO27001:2013  and are delighted to have just successfully completed our latest 3 year re-certification audit. Having an ISMS in place has had its benefits. For example , risk review and risk management  in terms of  CIA is a key element of the standard. As our customers see the benefits of AlmirLive we have seen higher need for storage for existing customers and we are adding new customers on a constant basis. Our risk review led us to identify the need to update our storage capacity by 50% for AlmirLive. Our ISMS ensured this change was carefully planned and our  increase in capacity was successfully completed  early May with minimal disruption.

It is a good  news story for Almir that our clients see the benefits of AlmirLive as the core of their management systems. It is good news for our clients that by having a ISO27001:2013 accredited ISMS in place that we are effectively managing and improving our systems to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of their management system data.
